Ashurst HwaHyun Joint Venture Law Firm (Ashurst Korea JV), the first joint venture between an international firm and a Korean firm based in Korea, was established in 2023 between global law firm Ashurst and Korean law firm HwaHyun.

Leveraging Ashurst's successful outbound practice for Korean clients and HwaHyun's deep understanding of the Korean market as a full-service law firm operating in the jurisdiction, Ashurst Korea JV is ideally placed to assist both Korean and international clients with their legal needs.

Ashurst Korea JV draws on a strong team of Korean lawyers and foreign legal advisers/consultants to advise on Korean law, as well as US law and the laws of England and Wales in which our foreign legal consultants are experts. Together, we have extensive experience advising both Korean clients (such as conglomerates, major financial institutions, governmental organisations) and various international clients in respect of multijurisdictional mergers, acquisitions, disposals, real estate transactions, disputes, investigations, compliance and sanctions with a Korean nexus.
